War on the Free Market: Minneapolis Bans New Drive-Thru Facilities

Did you ever want to open a drive-thru burger joint? Too bad for you if you live in Minneapolis where the radical control freaks on the city council just voted unanimously to ban all new drive-thru facilities within city limits.

Why would a city council declare war on the free market like this? Why to ‘save the environment,’ of course!

The Minneapolis City Council voted Thursday to ban new drive-thru facilities within city limits.

On Thursday, Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender said the ordinance passed unanimously.

In May, Planning commission president Sam Rockwell said the move would reduce carbon emissions made by idling cars, and increase pedestrian safety.
