“Conservative” Idaho Surrenders its Capital City to Radical Leftist

In a moment that will feel eerily familiar to students of American history, a long-time conservative state is once again watching its urban centers fall to the most radical fringe of the progressive movement.

Boise’s new mayor is Lauren McLean, a far-left Democrat who has made a spectacle of her unflinching support for the most tyrannical forms of gun control and who was enthusiastically endorsed by Planned Parenthood.

Despite Idaho voters overall having supported Trump by 59.3% versus just 27.5% for Hillary Clinton in 2016, the city of Boise and even Ada County have now fallen to gun-grabbers, abortion cheerleaders, and advocates of higher taxes, increased regulations, and an ever-expanding nanny state.

With the specter of redistricting looming in the near future, the loss of additional legislative districts to the leftist mob seems all but certain. Idaho’s urban areas are growing far faster than their rural counterparts, and the swing of power that accompanies these demographic shifts is pushing this once deeply conservative state ever further to the left.

What does all of this mean for Idahoans and the freedoms they hold dear? What of our gun rights, our liberty to homeschool, and our health freedom? Make no mistake, the party of gun confiscation, state supremacy, and vaccine mandates has Idaho squarely in its sights, and McLean’s victory gives them a significant stronghold in Idaho’s largest city.

Does this mean that Idaho’s electoral votes or control of the legislature are up for grabs in 2020? Probably not, but what of 2024 or 2028? The trajectory of the state over the next decade looks to mirror the liberal conquests we have witnessed in Colorado, Washington, Oregon and other once conservative states that have fallen to the progressive onslaught.

It is almost impossible to overstate the extreme danger that we are facing here in Idaho. As tens of thousands of Californians flood into the state and entitled millennials embrace the failures of socialism with open arms, our shrinking conservative contingent is quickly losing ground.

What can we do?

The sad truth is that conservatives will never have more influence or opportunity than they do today, yet they are largely squandering these chances through compromise and apathy. Instead of enshrining our rights in the state constitution and working to stymie progressive schemes like ballot initiatives, many Republicans are just twiddling their thumbs even as their majorities shrink and their counties and cities fall like dominoes before the leftist assault.

If we do not man up and work diligently to vanquish our leftist foes, Idaho will be lost forever. It cannot be stated any more plainly than that.

Idaho’s conservative better fight like it’s the end of the world to turn it around, because if you don’t it basically will be. Don’t let it go like conservatives have in other states, you’ll get overrun like California has.
Sincerely, A lifelong Californian conservative. ( yes we exist, and used to be the majority).

I agree, Don Kelley. I’ve lived in Idaho my whole life (I’m 23) and I can see the conservative values that once used to be commonplace dwindling away, even in my hometown high school.

Having emigrated to Idaho from Calif 8 years ago, I welcomed the conservative the CDA area offered. I brought my “quite conservative” views with me, and hoped others did too. Bit I began to notice that many of the new transplants brought their myopic, socialist views with them! They allowed their state to be turned into a third world s$#thole, and desired to implement the same policies here! So far, their progress has been slowed, but not stopped! They’re like a cancerous tumor, and they have time and money! What has happened in Boise is a sad testament to the conservatives in that area! I wonder how any voted? How many campaigned for a better choice or campaigned against this liberal loon? People had best get off their collective butts and get involved or this disease will spread across the state!

From a SECULAR WORLD VIEW: You conservatives in Idaho, like so many other places, have (1) Gotten complacent (spell that L-A-Z-Y) (2) Allowed your schools to become Leftist, godless, indoctrination camps (3) Allowed these seeds of Socialism / Communism / atheism to be sown, and now you a reaping the harvest.

What you Conservatives better do is either get on a righteous crusade (1) Get off your tail ends and make some sacrifices and recruit the other Patriots to join (2) De-fund the Leftist programs or just plain run them out of your schools (3) Burn down the “crops” that have grown.

Read about the American Revolution and get to it.

FROM A CHRISTIAN WORLD VIEW: You say “Idaho’s conservative better fight like it’s the end of the world”. Well, you might be onto something here.

Idaho really does need to “turn it around”. You see, the Bible uses that term. It is REPENT. Matthew 4:17 says “From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” ”

Idaho needs to REPENT and call on the Name of The Lord. Now, that also requires that you DO WHAT HE SAYS TO DO.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says “…and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

2 Corinthians 6:14 says “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15What accord has Christ with Belial?b Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,

“I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
17Therefore go out from their midst,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
    and touch no unclean thing;
    then I will welcome you,
18and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
    says the Lord Almighty.”

I could say more, but, the walls of Jericho didn’t fall because everyone was standing around griping.

I want to know specifically, what conservatives can do to keep our state from becoming another California, Washington, Oregon or Colorado? Can I get some suggestions? I think I speak for a lot of others who want to help, but don’t know how. I am a senior who wants to keep our state safe from idiotic leftists.

Even our conservative leaders are moderate at best some are very liberal and continue to run as conservative. Wake up and get the liberals even the ones, that say they are conservative out of office. Some have been in way to long. If they don’t reflect your opinion don’t vote for them. If the schools are teaching things you do not agree with take them to task. If the newspaper is not of the same opinion as you stop giving them money drop your subscription. Take charge and maybe it will make a difference.

The problem we have a lot of these liberals are being planted in the conservative states, some even being payed to relocate by the liberals in government. The only way this will stop is to make it very hard on a liberal to even live in a conservative state. And to figure out away to make them move back to where they come from. Knowing in our country we don’t treat people this way, conservative’s need to stop being lazy and vote them out of office as soon as possible.

Those of us in the “lost” state of California have put together an effort (in the north most region) to try and carve out a new State called Jefferson. We used the Idaho Constitution as the basis for our own and tightened up the language and passed on some of the more archaic portions. If Latah County and the counties north join the the Eastern Washington Liberty State movement, then maybe part of Idaho can be saved. Boise is being overrun by all the bay area refugees that can no longer afford to live there but are more than willing to turn a bastion of conservatism into a socialist cesspool. While the Legislature has the majority, it’s time to hardware the Idaho Constitution with the freedoms that were guaranteed to the States before they are taken away those who do not belong. I thought the church would protect this state, but I guess I was wrong. Time to stand and fight instead of die on your knees.

I can’t understand how the people vote liberals like her into office. Leftist liberal politics have ruined state after state. The list of failed cities and states is constantly growing. I had to flee a liberal state, and for the record, I am as Conservative as they come.

Conservatives are clearly the majority in this state, but too many people are becoming complacent. Complacency kills.

Please tell all your Conservative friends and family to vote! We can’t afford to lose elections. Don’t assume someone else will pick up the slack. We ALL have to fight to keep this state red. As others have mentioned, liberal policies spread like a plague. This is the most beautiful state in the country, and we can keep it that way by voting at city, county and state level elections. Life is busy, but once it’s too far gone, it’s impossible to unscrew what liberals do to a state. Be a good ambassador to the Republican Party and motivate Conservatives to vote.

    *Just my humble opinion.

We have voted. We have prayed. The majority of the conservatives do not vote for the politicians around Boise. We need to know what action to take more than that. We can join together to pray against her, which we will do. Boise has indeed been targeted for these people to move-in and take over. If anyone has fought this good fight and won, give us examples.

All Idahoans and those escaping from Socialist Or, WA and CA need to understand now is the time to stand strong and make sure those in our cities truly understand what is about to happen to Idaho if we do not do something now….for example…housebill 2238 in Oregon (which will win because they have a supermajority in their state) has the power to declare emergency, then enter homes, seize personal or real property, including food storage, vehicles, livestock, etc. They have the ability to ration , to take and reappropriate your hard earned holdings….

Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1. ORS 35.350 is amended to read:
    35.350. (1)../..
    (2) An owner of property that is used or possessed only temporarily under this section
is not entitled to compensation except as the owner may prove entitlement to compensation
under Article I, section 18, of the Oregon Constitution.
SECTION 2. ORS 401.188 is amended to read:
401.188. Whenever the Governor has declared a state of emergency, the Governor may issue,
amend and enforce rules and orders to:
    (1) Control, restrict and regulate by rationing, freezing, use of quotas, prohibitions on shipments,
price fixing, allocation or other means, the use, sale or distribution of food, feed, fuel, clothing and
    other commodities, materials, goods and services;
    (2) Prescribe and direct activities in connection with use, conservation, salvage and prevention
of waste of materials, services and facilities, including, but not limited to, production, transportation,
power and communication facilities training, and supply of labor, utilization of industrial plants,
health and medical care, nutrition, housing, rehabilitation, education, welfare, child care, recreation,
consumer protection and other essential civil needs; and
    (3) Take any other action, including through the seizure, use or possession of any real or
personal property, that may be necessary for the management of resources following an emergency.

I agree the CONSERVATIVES NEEDS TO FIGHT NOW, The spineless needs to remove themselves from office.
Start doing everything the liberals hate. Get rid of Hoas. they love that. Make welfare only to stay alive not a luxury. No fancy phone, just a basic phone to call like for getting a job or a family member that it. Make it they dont’ want to stay in idaho or they have to get a job. Make Hoas Illegal, and those who have it, give them a option to get rid of it. Make lower taxes all together. Developers who looooove section 8 houses and cluster, make it harder that a bunch of homes is to be built that are slap together homes cookie cutters. and if someone sells a lot of property they cannot change the zoning. it is what it is 1 house on 20 acre period.
    Got the idea.
